# Models & languages

## Our models

BlinkWrite uses **customized AI models** that we run on **our own
infrastructure**, adapted and fine-tuned specifically for real-world writing
assistance rather than general chat. Your text never passes through third-party
AI providers.

Because the models are tuned for BlinkWrite's specific jobs (drafting replies,
completing sentences, correcting, and rephrasing), they can be fast and
context-aware while keeping your data within our own systems.

What this means for you:

- **Customized for writing**: models adapted for BlinkWrite's suggestion types,
  not a general-purpose chatbot.
- **Self-hosted**, so your text stays within BlinkWrite's own infrastructure.
- **Private:** your writing is never stored or used to train or fine-tune models.

## Supported languages

BlinkWrite supports **36 languages**. It automatically detects your language
on your device and suggests in that language by default.

For a rewrite in another language, choose **Custom** in the rephrase dialog.
Enter an instruction such as “Translate this into French,” then press **Enter**.
